Go-Go Gadget…

Occasionally I get stupid and check out some “mom blogs.”  I’m not referring to the blogs of my friends who are moms or even the two blogs of moms I regularly check into (moneysavingmom.com and storinguptreasures.com).  I am referring to the super opinionated moms whose goal in life seems to be perfection.

I seriously think it’s important for moms to share our “best practices,” like creative educational ideas and systems to keep the mounds of laundry organized… but I think we should chill out in most other areas.  I especially beleve this to be true on the web.  Unless you’re an expert in an area, you should probably keep your mouth shut unless someone asks your opinion.  But be aware that they’re most likely soliciting your advice to a) find more support for something they already believe or b) to demonstrate how radical and crazy your opposing view is.

Yes, I acknowledge the errors of my ways… I should not check in with the mom wanna-be superstars.  They just make me feel like crap.   Instead I will continue to seek God’s help and the great wisdom and advice of my dear mama friends.  After all, even on my best day, I barely resemble Inspector Gadget, calling upon my arsenal of weapons (AKA meal plan, cleaning schedule, reading list, etc).  Like Gadget, I usually save the day only when my worldly weapons fail me and my sidekick (Holy Spirit) saves the day.

Be free, my dear readers… moms or dads.  Friends, brothers, sisters… be free to be a fumbling cartoon character.  You’re much more likeable that way!
