Review of Expanded Bible: New Testament

I received the Expanded Bible: New Testament from Thomas Nelson publishers as a book reviewing blogger. I expected this Bible to be a great study aid since it offers extra study tools within the text (literal, traditional, and variations of word meanings). I think the idea behind this study Bible was noble, but unfortunately the delivery of information was confusing and hindered my scripture reading. The extra information was included within the New Century Version text, not as side or footnotes. I read the book of Ephesians for my review, and spent the first chapter of the book trying to train my mind to skip over the inserted (expanded) text. It felt like there was a synonym for every other word in the text. I gave this Bible two stars simply because it is the Holy Scripture.
